April 7th is just around the corner, and while many may not know the significance of the date, we’d like to take a few minutes to pass along a bit of information about World Health Day 2016.

Each year, the World Health Organization dedicates one day to spreading awareness about a specific disease. This year, the organization has selected diabetes, a growing epidemic affecting more than 347 million people.

90% of the world’s diabetics are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, resulting from the body’s ineffective use of insulin. Health care professionals believe that the biggest factors in developing type 2 diabetes are obesity and physical inactivity.

Participate in World Health Day by reading more about this years cause, eating healthy, and continuing to stay active with your family. While chiropractic isn’t a treatment for diabetes, regular adjustments help keep your nervous system interference-free, allowing you to function in peak condition.
